Christmas Tree Train

The annual Christmas Tree Train is a ride up the North Shore to the village of Knife River to pick out a fresh-cut Christmas Tree. The trees are bailed and loaded onto the train while attendees enjoy live music and the holiday atmosphere at the newly restored Knife River Depot. Once returned to the St. Louis County Depot, helpers load the trees onto attendees’ car roofs to bring home.

Trees and wreaths can be purchased along with train tickets, or in person at Knife River.

Schedule
9 a.m. – Depart St. Louis County Depot
10:30 a.m. – Arrive at Knife River and pick out a tree
11:30 a.m. – Train departs Knife River to return to Duluth
1 p.m. – Train arrives at St. Louis County Depot and trees are claimed

Tickets in coach seating are $40 for adults and $30 for kids, plus aprocessing fees. Add $15 for domecar tickets.
