Duluth 2026 General Election Sample Ballot
The Minnesota State General Election is Nov. 3. Polling place hours in Duluth are from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The sample ballot above is specifically for Duluth precinct 29; some items on the ballot differ in other precincts. Descriptions of the differences are below, but a customized sample ballot is available by using the Minnesota Voting Information Portal(opens in new tab).
The backside of the sample ballot, which appears at the bottom of this post, is the same throughout the city.
Duluthians on the eastern side of the city will see candidates for Minnesota State Representative for District 8B instead of 8A. Duluthians living in the center of the city will see the St. Louis County Commissioner race for District 1 on their ballots. A few Duluthians on the western edge of the city will vote on the Minnesota House of Representatives District 3B and Minnesota Senate District 3 races.
The darker green area in the map above is the 8A side of the divide; the light green side is 8B. Therefore, citizens east of First Avenue East and Kenwood Avenue will not see the race for Minnesota State Representative for District 8A, but will instead see the option below on their ballots. This applies specifically to precincts 1-15 and 23.
The yellow section of the map above shows precinct 34, the small portion of Minnesota House of Representatives District 3B and Minnesota Senate District 3 that extend into Duluth. Residents of that part of the city will see the two races below on their ballots.
The pink Duluth portion of the map above shows St. Louis County District 1. Residents in that area vote in the County Commissioner race shown below.
In addition to voting on election day, citizens can vote early at Duluth City Hall from Oct. 16 to Nov. 2. The city clerk’s office is on the third floor, room 318. Early voting hours are Monday through Friday. 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Other voting methods are by mail(opens in new tab), from abroad(opens in new tab) or through agent delivery(opens in new tab).
