Help me smoke meats

I want to build this barrel smoker I found on Reddit, but I don’t know where to find a 55-gallon food-grade drum. Since everyone was very helpful with my sticker question I figured I would tap the PDD well again.

Barrel Country looks to be out of Annandale, MN.

Looks like a pretty decent selection. I didn’t look to far into the cost of shipping, but if you picked them up you could buy a just-in-case extra!

Contact your area recycling center. Another idea fast food restaurants – maybe they get their oil or spaghetti sauce/tomatoes delivered in a barrel that size. Last idea is call the Whole Foods Co-op – maybe they would have some advice.

We have friends out in Baltimore who constructed a terra cotta smoker from plans pulled from instructables.com … (little brown egg in Maine).

Might be worth a look, and could be a lot more efficient and cost effective.

Here is that instructibles linkie … hope it helps. My friends have been pretty successful at using it after traversing a small learning curve.
