Where’s the dill?

The cukes are growing like mad, but the dill is doing diddly. Whole Foods, Cub, Super One don’t have any dill on hand — apparently shipments are coming in at the end of the week … maybe, no guarantees. Any suggestions where I can find fresh dill?

I saw some for sure at the Farmers Market on 14th Avenue East and Third Street last week and maybe at the Co-op. Get to the market early as this time of year it goes fast because of all you pickle makers.

Maybe it’s a bad dill year? The dill in my garden all died this summer, which is a rarity. (The basil all died too, but that’s normal…)

Not to be a jerk, but this totally reminds me of that meme “first world problems.”

    1. It’s TGIF, but I forgot to put the white wine in the fridge before I left for work, so now I’m GOING TO HAVE TO WAIT A BIT BEFORE I START DRINKING AFTER WORK!!!

    2. I bought too much basil at the Farmer’s Market last week, and some of it WENT BAD BEFORE WE COULD USE IT!!!

The other day Mt. Royal Fine Foods had large bunches of Dill on their local produce table. You could call ahead and ask for produce dept to see if they still have some in stock.

The Cloquet Super One had lots of dill today. It didn’t look the best I have ever seen but it was there!

Thanks for the suggestions. First batch of pickles done. Let winter bring on its worst.

I saw some beautiful dill at Homecroft Foods out a few miles on Howard Gnesen Road (where Kenwood meet Arrowhead go north).

There’s a farmer’s market on Thursdays from 11am – 1pm and I’ve always seen dill there. It’s on the corner of 3rd Street and 5th Ave East.
