Where will the trees be planted? Will they be planted that day, or is this just training?

The trees will be planted in the Central Hillside area. In about two weeks, another event will be held in the East Hillside. The city of Duluth obtained a grant to purchase trees … the grants, from the DNR and Duluth Superior Area Community Foundation were for about $26,300 and will purchase hundreds of trees!

The city has also announced a new Tree Fund program. You, as a homeowner, can send $25 and the city will match it to purchase a tree, up to $5,000 per year! They should be planted on your boulevard, not up at your cabin!

Cool! We need to put something in now, so we’ll still have a tree once the emerald ash borer takes out our entire street.

You hit it right on. That’s part of why the DNR awarded the grant.
