Homegrown 2011 on KUMD

As always, KUMD 103.3 will provide plenty of coverage of this year’s Homegrown Music Festival.

Last week’s Radio Gallery program featured artist Jeredt Runions, who did the cover for this year’s Homegrown Field Guide and curated the Homegrown art shows. Listen here.

We’ll have local bands Live from Studio A all week:

Monday, May 2 at 1pm: Portage
Tuesday, May 3 at 2pm: Yester
Wednesday, May 4 at 2pm: Hattie Peterson
Thursday, May 5 at noon: Loup-Garou
Friday, May 6 at 2pm: Ashley Northey of King Moonracer

If you miss a session, you can listen to them on our Audio Archives page .

Wednesday at 5pm on the Local, members of Puddle Wonderful will drop by to talk about their reunion show and spin some local tunes.

We’ll also be tabling at some of the events, so stop by and say hi and sign up for free stuff!

Who in the hell scheduled the poetry showcase at about the same time as the music video showcase??? Maybe I can run back and forth between the two?

I did. Well, along with a scheduling committee. And running back and forth between overlapping shows is always encouraged.

I am so doing it then! Glad both events are in the same building, they were both excellent last year!

Is there a list of what songs are being made to videos and who is doing them, or is it find out when you get there?

There has been a program at the Music Video Festival in previous years that outlines who made what video and the song/artist. I assume there will be this year, too.

That info has never been put out in advance because the videos are turned in to the organizer the day before the show, and usually one or two people who think they are going to make a video fail to produce one. So that program is probably being made at this very moment.

@Annie If you get a chance before tonight, you should drop the “Zac” from Loup-Garou. I don’t need more credit than I deserve…and Lee does all the lyrics, anyway.

will do Zacaroo! Although I kinda like “Zac-Lee Loup-Garou”….

Looks like our Friday session will be at 2pm with Ashley Northey, whose band King Moonracer is playing Friday night at Harbor City. I’m still waiting to hear if it will be just Ashley or if the band’s coming in, too.
