Farmer’s Almanac is one season off in its analysis. Duluth has awesome winter weather. It’s the winter-like springs that are brutal in Duluth.

I will take our crappy, winter-like Spring over summer in the Twin Cities!

I agree with Paul and Tim! I’m peeved at the way winter weather is always classified as ‘worst’ just because it’s likely a place will have snow and temps cold enough to keep it on the ground for more than a week. Our winter weather is exactly what makes it good!

By the way, the 2001 article from Outside magazine that highlights Duluth is still available on a sloppily designed old page on Outside‘s website.
