“What I Want You to Know” Film Screening and Panel Discussion
What I Want You to Know is a documentary about the account of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan told by combat veterans themselves. The screening will be followed by a panel featuring Garrett Reppenhagen, a combat veteran who appears in the film, along with additional combat veterans from the area. This is the first event in the 2024-2025 series “What is Peace?”

Despair, Blasphemy and the Hardened Heart with Dr. Ashley Comstock
Medieval Christian thinkers almost uniformly affirm that there is some action or state of mind that cannot, or will not, be divinely forgiven. This presentation examines common threads in influential Medieval Christian descriptions of this most serious form of wrongdoing, in an attempt to better understand Medieval Christian accounts of under-studied vices and sins like despair, blasphemy and hardness of heart. This event will be held in the Raven Room at the St. Scholastica Library.

The Synod on Synodality
St. Scholastica's Braegelman Program in Catholic Studies is hosting an online discussion with Dr. Kristin Colberg of Saint John’s University and School of Theology and the College of Saint Benedict. Dr. Colberg has expertise in ecclesiology and ecumenism and is a member of the theological commission supporting the Synod on Synodality. An online webinar link will be shared prior to the event.
