And they say no one notices bottom-of-left-hand-page ads. Guess not. Good eye, Wildgoose.

I don’t know what you mean about “economic stimulus,” though. The ad clearly states the negative affect PDD has on Duluth’s economy.

Perhaps you’re suggesting that buying this ad helped shuffle some local dollars around. How embarrassing, then, for me to have to disclose that PDD didn’t actually pay for the ad. It was donated by the Duluth News Tribune as part of a perks package for joining the Duluth Area Chamber of Commerce. But I guess if PDD’s chamber membership dues — and the DNT’s generous offer — can be considered an economic stimulus your headline holds up.

My economic stimulus joke was that IT managers everywhere are going to block PDD now, thus increasing productivity.

    Ha! It’s about time!

People will have to go back to standing around the water cooler arguing about whether aborted fetuses should be allowed to smoke marijuana.

    Haha.

No one would be happier than myself to spend an entire workday arguing for the rights of fetuses to smoke marijuana. Long live PDD!

Inspired ad, I love it! Zra is right, this is where the action is!

Shouldn’t the ad have said something along the lines of local liberal critics? (I forgot the anti-dnt verbage used against pdd)

I can personally attest to the truth of this ad copy. I am trying to write an author profile and have a tight deadline, and look at me, I’m on PDD! WTF!

I liked this today in the DNT:

Why would they city pay someone to manage a venue. They should be paying the city for use of the space.

I think it should all be for free events. Earth day-like celebrations every other weekend in the summer (craft fairs, community events, music shows, etc). Have the parts run it, just like renting any other park, but have rules for how they can use the space. Make it $50 a table (to the city). It could provide a great service to tourists and the community.
