I’m thrilled to share this project. In 2018, I wrote a haibun after every cross-country ski, run, hike and paddle. I logged my observations both at home in Duluth and while on the road as an airline pilot. I took one of the most adventurous solo backpacking trips of my life that year. My dog Leo and I hiked for five days through the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness of Minnesota. We followed the Kekekabic Trail, inspiring the book’s title. I hope you’ll enjoy the collection!
