Perfect Duluth Day

Preston Gunderson kicks off Kickstarter

Virginia, Minn. native Preston Gunderson is a musician with dreams as big as his heart.

He came to Duluth to attend the College of St. Scholastica and immediately fell in love with the community he found himself in. He found both the Duluth and Scholastica community to be supportive of his music and he in turn became supportive of this community.

Preston graduated in May 2012 and moved back up to the Iron Range while working on his music and getting a job, but when the water of the June 20 floods came raging, Preston returned his focus to Duluth and helping the community that helped him grow.

Preston helped organize and put together two benefit concerts to help those in need in our community. He worked countless hours making phone calls, setting up bands and getting other volunteers.

Preston helped Duluth during it’s time of need and now he needs our help.

On Feb. 1, Preston began his Kickstarter campaign with the goal of raising $11,500 to help fund his newest album, “Getting Good at Starting Over.” He only has until March 1 to reach that goal.

Music from Preston can be found on iTunes. His most recent album in fact, even entered the top 100 on the pop charts.

Preston’s musical ability is one that can’t be matched. He’s one of the best young musicians to come out of the area in some time.
