The Christian children’s television series VeggieTales referenced Duluth in the 1996 episode “Dave and the Giant Pickle.” A regular feature on the show is a segment called “Silly Songs with Larry,” in which Larry the Cucumber and other Veggie characters sing a silly song.
At the 0:43 mark in the clip above, Larry sings:
If my lips moved to Duluth,
left a mess and took my tooth,
that’d be too bad.
I’d call my dad.
The song was covered by Christian singer Steven Curtis Chapman and his sons, under the band name Stevenson, for the 2004 album Veggie Rocks!
