Photos of the Great Whiteout of 2007

Above are photos from the PDD archives of the blizzard conditions in Duluth over March 1 and 2, 2007.

The Duluth News Tribune published it’s own collection today with the story “Ten years ago this week, Duluth was buried by the Blizzard of 2007.”

“While other storms have dropped more snow on the Northland, the 2007 storm was notable for its ferocity,” the DNT story notes. “Nowhere was that felt more than on Park Point, where snow drifts — pushed by winds off Lake Superior in excess of 60 mph — reached 10 to 15, perhaps even 20 feet high.”

The above video was posted to PDD by Tamara Jones on the first day of the storm.
