he Minnesota Humanities Center, an independent nonprofit that is an affiliate with the National Endowment for the Humanities, has recently received funding from the Minnesota Legislature to provide grants to individuals, museums and organizations. The Minnesota Humanities Center (MHC), by virtue of funding provided by the Minnesota Legislature, will be accepting applications between September 14 and October 30, 2023, for the following grant opportunities:
- Cultural Heritage grants for humanities organizations & individuals, to create programming and educational opportunities.
- Capacity building for small non-profit humanities organizations, to assist with grant writing and fundraising.
- Emergency Response for non-profit humanities organizations, responding to crisis and emergencies.
- Children’s museums for children’s museums, to provide education, outreach, and programming.
- Civics organizations and programs, to provide and conduct civics education programs to youth.
MHC is also seeking individuals to serve as Independent Review Panelists to assist MHC in determining grant awards. MHC is particularly interested in reviewers from BIPOC communities and individuals with humanities experience, museum experience, nonprofit management, and/or civics and government education experience.
