Described as a “punk version of Bentleyville,” Boubville is a winter celebration centered around connection and play between artists as they imitate the light displays found the Bentlyville “Tour of Lights.” The event is also functioning as a fundraiser for the Embassy art collective. Despite the recent blizzard, Duluthians looking to connect and dance still made it over to the first night of Boubville.
During Thursday night’s display, Ollie Morris said the local arts scene is “just finding a new hermit shell” — that artistic people are “looking for a new place” after the closing of the Blush nightclub. They moved here during the pandemic, relocating to the area “for the art and music scene” and “caught the end wave of a really cool chapter,” Morris said.
On Friday Dec. 16 and Saturday Dec. 17, the space will be open to the public again. Boubville is located at 315 W. Fourth St. Below is the schedule of music performances.
