It’s been mentioned a few times in “Duluth reference” posts on PDD, but the clip has never been featured. So here it is, the cold open from season 2, episode 20 of Cheers.
Titled “If Ever I Would Leave You,” this episode aired Feb. 28, 1985.
Every episode of Cheers, by the way, has a northeast Minnesota reference. A Great Depression-era photo shot in Craigville, Minn., about 100 miles northwest of Duluth, appears in the opening theme.
