Perfect Duluth Day

Out-of-town anarchist identified!

Out-of-town element and notorious volunteer, Diane Emerson, reacts to Duluth Police Chief Gordon Ramsay’s reference to her at yesterday’s press conference about Occupy Duluth. She was so stunned she almost spilled her herbal tea on her Nonviolent Communication handbook!

At a Thursday press conference, Duluth Police Chief Gordon Ramsay warned of “more anarchists and more out of town people” moving in to the Occupy Duluth encampment at the Civic Center.

Loaves & Fishes Community has been monitoring this situation closely, and is shocked to discover one such out-of-town anarchist right in our dining room! In fact, Diane Emerson, past president of the Minnesota State Horticultural Society and traveling global volunteer, appears to be a ringleader of the insurgent Occupy Duluth movement. She has been observed recording the minutes of General Assemblies and routinely tidying up the Occupy Duluth camp and surrounding area.

Emerson recently learned that she was an anarchist after reading the definition, and is as surprised as anyone. Apparently Emerson believes in taking responsibility for herself and her community and working with others in a way that is both collaborative and democratic. An MBA, Emerson has recently been overheard speaking out against the vast accumulation of wealth by billionaires and the need for more sharing and less greed.

Loaves & Fishes urges calm. Emerson is soon moving on to a new volunteer project on the West Coast, once again ensuring the safety of the Duluth community.
