Perfect Duluth Day

Postcard from the Ski Scaffold in Duluth

The ski scaffold in this postcard should not be confused with “Big Chester,” the jump that stood in Chester Park from 1924 to 2014. The postmark on this card is March 8, 1912.

Most of the written message on the back of the card is legible, but the names are a little tricky. It looks like the recipient is Miss Lattie Busch in Bemidji.

The message reads:

Hello Lattie. How are you? I am fine. Say is Minnie in Duluth? Write and tell her to find me at 1623 16th Ave. E. Tell her I have great news to tell her, or give me her address. Well how are you girls anyway? Is Tillie in town? Is Luelto home? Greet them for me. Do you remember one year ago? I wish I could. See you girls again. Write soon. –Jennie Lofgre
