The staff at Sound Unseen are both very anxious, nervous and incredibly excited to kick-off Duluth’s inaugural international film + music festival at Sacred Heart Music Center! If you are still on the fence about what to do Wednesday night, let us remind you that we’re premiering two films at our Opening Night: locally produced Google Goes to Twin Ports and Feed the Fish!
If you purchase a film + gala ticket you not only get to see a great film, you also get to attend a fabulous gala at the Greysolon Ballroom featuring complimentary Schell’s beer and hors d’oeuvres from Black Woods Catering … and you also get to shake your ass on the dance floor to hot beats by DJ Talk Radio and Mpls’ own rising electro stars Solid Gold (are also making their debut)! Filmmakers will be in attendance — for those who love to dress up, this is your chance as there will be a red-carpet arrival area. And if you haven’t heard the big news … we announced at a press conference early this morning in front of the historic NorShor Theater that we have been given the privilege to screen two films there during the festival — in an essence, ushering in a new era and re-introducing the theater to its original function as a beautiful, historic landmark place to see films here in Duluth.
On Thursday, June 3, we will be screening Valerie’s Orchard at 7 p.m. and have chosen to move our closing night Low movie by director Philip Harder there on Sunday, June 6 at 7:30 p.m.
