Bayside Sounds: G.B. Leighton
Brian Leighton and his five-piece band have been tearing up rock clubs and festivals since the 1990s. This show will be held on the plaza outside Yellowjacket Union on the University of Wisconsin-Superior campus. The free community concert will include food trucks and an inflatable obstacle course and slide. Attendees may bring lawn chairs, snacks and beverages, and are asked to follow physical-distancing guidelines and protocols. Masks are recommended. The show concludes the summer Bayside Sounds concert series.

Chaz Cardigan
The University of Wisconsin-Superior will host Chaz Cardigan for a free community concert in the Yellowjacket Union Shippar Atrium. An Evening of Wine and Jazz 2022
The University of Wisconsin-Superior Alumni Association hosts its annual An Evening of Wine and Jazz event. Proceeds benefit UW-Superior students through scholarships, program support and more. The event begins with a wine and craft beer tasting and features live jazz music by the Greg Kehl Moore Quintet. Hors d'oeuvres and desserts will also be available. The Lake Superior National Estuarine Research Reserve's 13th annual St. Louis River Summit runs March 8-10. Red Cross Day
The University of Wisconsin-Superior invites the community to celebrate Red Cross Day with multiple events. Volunteers from the local Red Cross chapter will join UW-Superior staff from several departments throughout the day. Hands-only CPR and Honor Flight card-writing will occur from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the Yellowjacket Union, and an exhibit titled “Refugee for 60 Minutes” takes place from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. in the Yellowjacket Union Great Room.

UW-Superior will hold a celebration for Indigenous Peoples Day at the Maawanji’idiwin – “The Place Where We Come Together” Medicine Wheel and Community Gathering Area located in the courtyard near the Yellowjacket Union. UW-Superior Jazz Band: Valentine’s Swing Dance
The University of Wisconsin-Superior Jazz Band is performing its annual Valentine's Swing Dance in the Great Room at Yellowjacket Union. The evening will feature music from the classic era of big bands with tunes made famous by Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, Count Basie and Woody Herman. Swing dance lessons will be offered between sets. Red Cross Day
UW-Superior invites the community to celebration Red Cross Day. Multiple events will be taking place throughout the day such as hands on CPR demonstrations, honor flight card writing and the opportunity to learn about becoming a Red Cross volunteer. Also, during the day, UW-Superior students will teach lessons about refugees and international humanitarian law and the Red Cross with an exhibit titled Refugee for 75 Minutes.
