The weekly “Highway 61 Revisited” radio show -- featuring the music of Duluth-born Bob Dylan -- first aired 30 years ago on KUMD 103.3 FM. The Duluth DylanFest and KUMD celebrate this milestone with a special celebration featuring a performance from Los Angeles-based rock/folk duo Andy & Renee. Multi-instrumentalist and longtime Duluth musician Marc Gartman will open.

Indie rockers Bad Bad Hats return to Sacred Heart in support of their new album Walkman, released Sept. 17. Duluth rocker Lyla Abukhodair will open. Bad Bad Hats is an indie rock band from Minneapolis. Its music is rooted in classic pop songwriting, with elements of 1990s rock influence and an overall lightheartedness. A variety of Nordic music will be shared as the final event in Duluth’s Festival of Nordic Music. The concert will feature organists James D. Hicks and Melanie Ohnstad, violinist Kristina Lantz, vocalist Erika Lantz and folk musician Arna Rennan. The historic 1898 Felgemaker pipe organ at Sacred Heart Music Center will be featured. The annual Duluth Dylan Fest Singer-Songwriter Contest features 15 musicians, each singing one Bob Dylan song and one original song. Only the original composition will be judged. Each contestant has approximately 6-8 minutes to perform both songs. Admission is free but reserved tickets are available online at eventbrite.com.
