Interactive Refugee Exhibit
Step into the shoes of a refugee for 50 minutes at the Mount Royal Library and learn about the experiences of people leaving their countries of origin. How does international law define a refugee? What kinds of legal protections do refugees have? Why do refugees leave? What sorts of problems and prospects do refugees face when resettling? In this continuation of Aesop’s fable, two friends compete together to find their voices, but hard-working Ant and playful Grasshopper are having trouble finding their harmony. With a little help from Queen Bee and the audience, Ant and Grasshopper learn how they can work together to create a sound where everyone’s voice is part of the chorus. This 35-minute program will be in the Blue Room and is geared towards kids up to 10 years old and their families.

The Duluth Public Library welcomes back Shawn Bernhardt -- a local educator and mushroom-grower -- to present a workshop on growing shiitake mushrooms at home. Bernhardt will demonstrate how to start a mushroom log and outline needed supplies, ideal growing conditions and harvesting practices. Registration is required.

Twin Ports Genealogical Society: Presentation and Meeting
Every month, the Twin Ports Genealogical Society gathers to learn about topics, ranging from genealogy to local history from experts. The Art of Book-Folding
Participants begin with a tutorial on book-folding techniques and will then choose between two designs to work on at their own pace. Participants are not required to finish during the duration of the workshop and may take their book and template home to finish. This same program will be offered at two different times on Monday, March 11 (2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.) and is suitable for adults. Registration is required.

Explore the wonders of the natural world, build amazing inventions and solve problems using science, technology, engineering, art and math. Activities are best suited to youths aged 8-12 years old. Each month will offer a new theme to explore and March's topic is Tallest Towers — participants will build tall towers and watch them tumble down. Planting for Pollinators
