Twin Ports Festival of History 2023: History on Tap
Featuring an "Explorations in History" exhibit and interactive stations. Attendees can take a journey with ships and their cargo to discover the story of how and why they come to the Duluth-Superior Harbor, the busiest port on the Great Lakes. April 30 marks the 56th anniversary of the 1967 tragic loss of the three Halverson teen brothers who were swept from the Duluth Ship Canal during a storm, along with the U.S Coast Guardsman who tried to save them. Blessing of the Port
The Twin Ports Ministry to Seafarers is hosting its annual Blessing of the Port at the Lake Superior Maritime Visitor Center. The event will include a 2023 shipping season overview by Kate Ferguson, Director of Trade and Business Development, Duluth Seaway Port Authority and a Ceremony of Blessing for all in the maritime industry. The Blessing of the Port Service is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served following the Blessing.

The third annual Twin Ports Festival of History runs April 3-9 at multiple venues in Duluth and Superior. It features lectures, tours and more. The event aims to provide those with an interest in history an opportunity to listen and discuss topics with authors and historians of local, regional, national and international renown. It is sponsored by the University of Minnesota Duluth's Public History and Museum Studies Programs and the multiple heritage organizations that are putting on events.
