Ely’s Peak
Ely’s Peak is located in western Duluth on a spur of the Superior Hiking Trail. A railroad tunnel on the DWP Trail passes underneath the peak. There is no direct automobile access. The trail head is located off Beck’s Road. To get there from Interstate 35, take Midway Road Exit 246. Go south on Midway Road / Beck’s Road 2.7 miles. Turn left on 123rd Avenue West and go one block to the parking lot on the left. From the parking lot follow the Superior Hiking Trail to the peak.

Flock to the Rock 2021
The Duluth Climbers Coalition hosts its annual summer climbing event -- a free day of climbing at Ely's Peak. Local climbing organizations will have ropes set and provide climbing equipment and instruction for people of all ages. The event is geared toward beginners, youth and families. A free hot dog lunch will be served.

Flock to the Rock!
The Duluth Climbers Coalition presents a day of family-friendly outdoor rock climbing at Ely’s Peak. The event is for all ages and skill levels, particularly kids. Climbing gear and instruction is provided at no cost, and there is a free hotdog lunch. Duluth Parks & Recreation will have mountain bikes available and lead guided bike rides on the half hour. Children must have a parent or legal guardian present.
