Jennifer Knox is the author of four books of poems. Neddlework: Rethinking Vulnerability and Resistance
The Needlework display includes pieces made with soft goods, leather, textiles and fiber art. The exhibit creates a "space to see the dynamic and intersectional display of vulnerability and resistance." The opening reception is held June 9 from 7-10. Spirit Lake Poetry Series: Bao Phi
Spirit Lake Poetry Series launches it's 21st season with a reading by Twin Cities poet Bao Phi. Coffee House Press describes Phi’s new collection, Thousand Star Hotel, as a confrontation of “the silence around racism, police brutality, and the invisibility of the Asian American urban poor.” The blunt yet agile style of Phi’s lines forms what he has called a guidebook for Asian-American youth, both autobiographical and activist.
