Illinois-based artist and author David R. Becker guides students through techniques and skills to create unique acrylic paintings. In this two-day workshop, students work with four different kinds of acrylics which include ink, fluid, gouache, and heavy-bodied acrylic. David teaches students to work on four different surfaces which include canvas, yupo, black paper, and white paper. Becker teaches students all of the skills needed to create well-composed paintings. Daily photo references accompany each morning and afternoon lesson. Painters at every level are welcome. Multidisciplinary artist Ray Allard teaches this casual drawing class that focuses on using different drawing tools. Allard teaches students how to manipulate pencils, pens, brushes, ink, felt brush markers, radiographs and quill pens to create drawings that highlight their unique creative expression. In this workshop, participants will learn the art of assemblage collage, focusing on seeing the beauty in everyday mundane, strange, or useless 3-D and 2-D objects and repurposing materials for their own artistic inspiration. This is a 16+ workshop and registration is $80 for members and $100 for non-member.
