SUMMARY:Winterers' Gathering and Arctic Film Festival 2026
DESCRIPTION:Celebrate the crafts\, customs\, and stories that have been inspired by winter at North House Folk School’s annual Winterers’ Gathering and Arctic Film Festival\, Nov. 20-22. The weekend features free film screenings\, a winter gear sale\, contra dancing\, a winter tent camp\, kids’ activities and more.  \nThe 2026 Winterers’ Gathering welcomes featured speaker Kayleen Ward-Peter of Venetie\, Alaska\, a small village located above the Arctic Circle. Ward-Peter will talk about her relationship with the land\, animals and plants in her northern homeland\, as well as efforts to protect and defend the Porcupine Caribou Herd and Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. She is deeply involved in tribal leadership’s efforts to build capacity and sustain their cultural heritage.
