SUMMARY:Wednesday Night at the Races in Two Harbors and Hibbing
DESCRIPTION:The Young Athletes Foundation and Grandma’s Marathon invite children ages 14 and under to take part in Wednesday Night at the Races\, a series of seven summer running races held on six summer evenings. \nThe week’s races are at Two Harbors and Hibbing high schools. \nAge Groups and Distances\n4 and under – 1/8 mile\n5 and 6 years old – 1/8 mile\n7 and 8 years old – 1/4 mile\n9 and 10 years old – 1/4 mile\n11 and 12 years old – 1/2 mile\n13 and 14 years old – 1/2 mile \nRegistration is between 5 p.m. and 5:50 p.m.\, and the races begin at 6 p.m. Participation is free and each week children receive a ribbon upon completion of their race. \nThe Young Athletes Foundation is a Grandma’s Marathon program that focuses on the promotion and development of healthy and active lifestyles for youth throughout the region. Since its inception in 1990\, the YAF has contributed more than $1.8 million to area nonprofit youth athletic organizations.
