Water: Artist Kimberlee Roth and Ecologist Tom Hollenhorst

May 25, 2017, 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm | Free | Duluth Art Institute at Lincoln Park

Event Navigation

The Duluth Art Institute presents a series of three Thursday evening conversations, “Earth: Clay + Science,” that explores interconnections in ceramics and earth science. The series is organized by ceramic and mixed media artist Maria Brown and is managed by DAI Exhibitions Director Catherine Meier.

The third and final conversation, “Water,” features Minneapolis artist Kimberlee Roth and ecologist Tom Hollenhorst. Roth will discuss the research and process surrounding her ceramic work exploring ocean pollution, and how she used her ceramic skills to raise awareness of an environmental issue. Hollenhorst, a landscape ecologist at the EPA and an adjunct faculty member of the UMD Water Resources Science graduate program, will speak about current research and the health of our local waterways.
