DESCRIPTION:Learn about the importance of walkability for creating healthy and successful communities. Attend one or all of the events. Visit a different Duluth neighborhood each month and focus on a new section of the book. \nWalkable City: How Downtown Can Save America One Step At A Time\, by Jeff Speck (10th edition) \nCopies of the book are available to check-out for card holders at the Duluth Public Library and in the UMD Library. There are three circulating copies of the book and a Book Club in a Bag kit available for check out. This kit includes ten copies of the book and a discussion guide. Check out the links on this document.  \nAugust event: In this session\, the focus is on Introductory sections including  “Do I need to remind you why?”\, “The Interesting Walk”\, pp.67-72\, 238-261\, 267-284. Conversation will be followed by a walking audit of Grand Avenue between Central and 59th Avenue West. Bring walking shoes and a water bottle. \nFuture events:\nSeptember 11\, 10 a.m. -12 p.m.: Duluth Public Library Adventure Book Club (Congdon Park). Registration required: Join Duluth Public Library for a book club in the great outdoors.
