University Recital Series: Erin Aldridge and Jennifer Gerth
The University of Wisconsin-Superior Music Department features violinist Erin Aldridge, professor of violin and director of orchestra, and clarinetist Jennifer Gerth, senior lecture of clarinet, in a free virtual performance for its University Recital Series.
Aldridge and Gerth have shared the stage for years as principal players in the Duluth Superior Symphony Orchestra. As colleagues at UW-Superior, they will perform some of their favorite repertoire. Additionally, they will muse on symphony life, music making and their most memorable performances.
This event will utilize technology in a variety of ways with Aldridge performing duets by playing both parts and editing them together. She will also be joined by pianist Aram Arakelyan in a performance recorded at the same time in two different states.
Gerth will perform with her husband, pianist Bill Eddins. With Aldridge, they will virtually join forces to perform movements of Darius Milhaud’s “Trio for Clarinet, Violin, and Piano.”
