Twin Ports Festival of History 2023: Misaabekong

Mar 30, 2023, 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm | Free | St. Louis County Depot

Event Navigation

The opening event of the Twin Ports Festival of History features Linda Grover presenting “Misaabekong: The Place of the Giants” in the Great Hall of the Duluth Depot.

At the western tip of Lake Superior, traditional Ojibwe stories weave and intersect with the history of today. This storytelling dibaajimowin of indigenous and immigrant communities begins with the view from Misaabekong, the Point of Rocks at the center of Duluth, and sweeps westward to eastward as well as past to present.

The second annual Twin Ports Festival of History runs March 30 to April 4 at multiple venues in Duluth and Superior and features lectures, tours and more. The event aims to provide those with an interest in history an opportunity to listen and discuss topics with authors and historians of local, regional, national and international renown.

The full schedule of daily events and their locations is available on the Twin Ports Festival of History webpage.
