St. Louis River Field School
An event every month that begins at 12:30 pm on day Second of the month, repeating until May 14, 2021
During widespread distanced/hybrid learning, the Lake Superior Reserve Education Program has found a way to keep doing outdoor learning with students. The St. Louis River Field School will take place monthly over the 2020-21 school year. The Field School is offered free of charge to middle-school students (grades 6-8) who are learning virtually or in homeschool.
Field School will be hosted in the afternoon of the second Friday of each month. Students will participate in S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) activities that will be cross-curricular and interactive.
Safety measures such as masks and social distancing will be in place and the number of participants will be limited to 8 per session. Registration is first-come, first-served and will be available via the Reserve’s website and Facebook page. Registration for each session closes by the end of the day on the Wednesday before Field School takes place.
Taking place at different locations along the St. Louis River, including Wisconsin Point and the Superior Municipal Forest, each of these hands-on experiences will provide a place for students to unplug outdoors and gain an appreciation of the St. Louis River.
