Spirit of the Lake Community School Open House

Spirit of the Lake Community School hosts an open house complete with live music, goats from Duluth Goat Yoga, Duluth Kombucha, outdoor activities, and a chance to get a taste of what Waldorf-inspired education has to offer.

Their middle schoolers were recently highlighted in the Duluth News Tribune for their work in launching their handmade boat. Spirit of the Lake Community School’s goal is to develop the whole child: the physical, social, emotional and creative skills support later success in life and school. Their education model “expands beyond the intellectual, and honors the full range of human potential, awakening mind, body, emotion, and spirit.” All children learn to sing, play a musical instrument, draw, paint, model clay, carve and work with wood, speak clearly, act in a play, think independently, and work harmoniously and respectfully with others.
