Spirit of Duluth: Taste of Mexico
Zeitgeist Arts and Community hosts an evening of dinner, art and film curated by Duluthians who are Mexican or Mexican-American.
The evening begins with dinner at 5:30 p.m. in the Cafe Mezzanine and features chorizo queso, charred salsa verde and pico de gallo served with cumin salted chips, either chicken hominy soup or roasted corn pablano soup (vegetarian option), pork or roasted pepper (vegetarian option) tamales served with rice and beans, traditional Mexican green chili sauce and a roasted pepper followed by tres leches cake.
At 7 p.m., the group will walk through the Day of the Dead art show in the atrium.
At 7:30 p.m., the film Hecho En Mexico (Made In Mexico – in Spanish with subtitles) will be screened in the Zeitgeist Teatro. The film is a documentary on some of contemporary Mexico’s most iconic artists and performers.
Tickets for the dinner and film are $65.38. Tickets for just the film are free, although a $5 donation is suggested to support Zeitgeist’s programming. Tickets may be purchased here.
