In this soapmaking class, each participant makes a two-pound batch of soap (about eight bars) using the cold process method. Participants learn a brief history and basic chemistry of soapmaking, safety considerations when working with lye, accurate measurements and proper mixing temperatures, how to color soap naturally with herbs, spices and clays and more.
