“Saving Brinton” Premiere Featuring the Pines
Collector, history teacher and weaver of a grand yarn Mike Zahs discovered of one of the world’s oldest surviving film collections in Washington County, Iowa. Zahs comes to Duluth with the internationally-acclaimed film about his adventures.
Joining Zahs for this one-night-only special event will be Mt. Iron native and Director Tommy Haines (brother of Duluth’s JT Haines, producer of the doc Pond Hockey) and the band The Pines, whose music is featured in the film.
7 p.m.: Audience members will be treated to the film the Guardian UK called “a heartwarming tale,” followed by a Q&A with director and star.
9 p.m.: Move upstairs for a unique performance in the Atrium by local favorites The Pines, whose “quietly gripping” (Rolling Stone) music is featured in the film. (Stick around for a special surprise from Zahs during the Pines set.)
