SUMMARY:Saturday Morning at the Races: St. Scholastica
DESCRIPTION:The Young Athletes Foundation is partnering with Duluth-area colleges to present Saturday Morning at the Races events\, providing opportunities for children to practice healthy living during the colder months by participating in running races. \nFull Season Schedule\nJan. 3 – Burns Wellness Commons at the College of St. Scholastica\nJan. 10 – Ward Wells Fieldhouse at the University of Minnesota Duluth\nJan. 31 – Marcovich Wellness Center at the University of Wisconsin-Superior\nFeb. 7 – YAF Appreciation Day at Amsoil Arena \nThe series is free and open to all children ages 14 and under\, with adaptive and wheelchair athlete opportunities available at all locations. Participants\, based on age\, have the opportunity to complete either a 1/8-mile\, 1/4-mile or 1/2-mile course. \nRaces start at 10 a.m. each week and participants are separated into different heats based on the number of kids in any specific age group. \nAnyone interested in participating can register in advance at raceroster.com. On-site registration is also available each week starting at 9 a.m. \nInformal balance bike races\, organized by Ski Hut\, start at approximately 9:30 a.m. A limited number of balance bikes and helmets available\, but participants are encouraged to bring their own.
