Pop-up Party at Embassy 35
Some of Duluth’s premier weirdos stage an immersive multimedia freakout in the old Carlson Bookstore, now known as Embassy 35. The scheduling is a little flexible, but from Oct. 9-12, the basic schedule will be ambient immersive light and sound from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. and performers/dance parties from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. Video projectors and walls of screens will map video and sound. The event is free, with a suggested donation to compensate the artists. The performance space will be alcohol-free. Costumes, however, are welcome.
6 to 7 p.m.: Opening incantation and mass drone while projecting sonic climate change data
7 to 10 p.m.: ambient interactive immersive light, video and art happenings
10 p.m. to 2 a.m.: Tim Kaiser, Colorado percussionist Sean Hamilton, Robot Rickshaw and friends Matt Wasmund, Alex Hecker, Jake Larson and Kevin Allen
