Guided Hike: Phenology at Tischer Creek

Jun 3, 2022, 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm | Free | Congdon Park

Event Navigation

This event will feature a guided walk along Tischer Creek led by Dr. Jessica Savage. The group will discuss how plants survive winter, how their growth changes in the spring, the timing of these changes (their phenology), and how a plant’s life cycle can be affected by climate change. Dr. Savage will discuss how recording observations about plants can be helpful to researchers and also talk about her local citizen-science program on plant phenology.

The event will take place along the Congdon Creek trails beside Tischer Creek. Parking is available on Superior Street near Congdon Park Elementary. The group will meet at the intersection of East Superior Street and Congdon Park Drive in the garden area with the bench.

This event is hosted by the Arrowhead Native Plant Explorers. ANPE events are open to the public. Participants’ first ANPE event is free; subsequent events are $10 for nonmembers.
