Event Navigation

The St. Louis County Historical Society, in partnership with the 1854 Treaty Authority and the Duluth Depot, presents its fourth annual Native American Heritage Day in the Depot’s Great Hall.
November is nationally recognized as Native American Heritage Month and this event is intended to celebrate local Ojibwe history, art, music and culture. The festivities will include food catered by Jim N Jo’s Katering, located in Cloquet. There will also be a new exhibit unveiling in the Fesler Galleries, drum music by SugarBush and speakers Vern Zacher and Michele Hakala-Beeksma.
Children’s activities during the day include drum building with Michael Gillespie, crafts by the 1854 Treaty Authority, lacrosse demonstration with Jaylen Strong, and Ojibwe Storytime in Eli’s Farm with Society Museum Assistant Abby Johnson.
