Duluth Rising Festival 2018
Duluth’s fifth annual hot-air balloon festival, also known as “Le Festival des Montgolfières à Duluth,” features weather-contingent, tethered balloon launches, a craft brew village, live entertainment and more. The festival runs Sept. 14-15.
Along with hot-air balloons, the event will feature educational, hands-on activities for families, like the Kiwanis Club of Friendly Duluth Free Family Kite Fly.
There will also be helicopter rides available from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. through Lake Superior Helicopters.
Attendees will have a chance to view tethered balloon flights during the festival. Balloons will not be launching over the skies of Duluth but will remain mostly grounded. If weather conditions are favorable, free tethered rides up to 30-feet in the air will be offered on a first-come, first-serve basis.
