SUMMARY:Julebyen Express Train
DESCRIPTION:The North Shore Scenic Railroad’s Julebyen Express departs from the St. Louis County Depot and travels to Knife River for the traditional Scandinavian Julebyen Christmas Festival. Enjoy Scandinavian foods\, music and dancing and fun shopping for artisan gifts at many of the colorful outdoor artisan huts. New exhibits are the restored 1900s Knife River train depot and the 35′ fish tug CRUSADER II in its new shelter. See the Viking ship LEIF ERIKSON\, once an icon of Duluth and namesake for Leif Erikson Park\, now under restoration in its new shelter. \nUpon arrival in Knife River\, passengers deboard to wander all the displays\, shops\, and food. Meanwhile\, the train reloads and departs for several optional additional rides on the “Troll Train” which is just $15 more\, with tickets sold at the Knife River Depot upon arrival. This is the same train\, but a short ride during the layover for a fun additional ride to search for mischievous trolls from the warm train (more below). \nTrain Schedule\n9 a.m. – Depart St. Louis County Depot on the Express Train\n10:30 a.m. – Arrive in Knife River\nOptional Troll Train To Troll Canyon ride: 11am or 12pm (two trips)- Not included\, but just $15 more\n1:30 p.m. – Depart Knife River for Duluth\n3 p.m. – Arrive in Duluth
