Introduction to Foraging (Mobility Friendly)
Event Navigation

In this beginner-friendly foraging class students learn the foundational skills needed to safely identify common edible plants and mushrooms in their local environment. Through hands-on exploration, they’ll discover how to observe key features, use field guides and understand seasonal clues.
This session takes place on a paved trail suitable for mobility devices and those who prefer a flat path and slower pace. This is usually a more plant based class although the occasional mushroom is found. All paces are welcome.
Students will go home with the knowledge of how to identify plants and mushrooms on their own. There is a chance to go home with wild edibles and depending on time of year may be able to try things in the field.
Students are asked to bring a basket or bag, sun protection, a water bottle, tick protection, sturdy shoes and to dress for the weather.
