Home, I’m Darling

Duluth Playhouse presents the Minnesota premiere of Home, I’m Darling, an Olivier Award-winning comedy by Laura Wade that pulls back the gingham curtains on one couple’s seemingly perfect life. Performances run May 23 to June 1.

Synopsis: Everything is perfect – the house is tidy, the table is set, and Judy’s dress is pressed for when she greets Johnny at the door, martini in hand. It is the 1950s, and life is ordered just right. Or is it? As the fantasy fades, the edges of this perfect life start to unravel, and they discover that things are not quite what they seem. In Home, I’m Darling, playwright Laura Wade explores the complications of marriage and cake and the dangers of nostalgia.

Jess Hughes, recently seen on the NorShor stage as Madame in Rodgers + Hammerstein’s Cinderella, brings sharp comedic timing and emotional depth to the role of Judy. Her husband Johnny is played by Sean Naughton, who is also Hughes’ husband offstage. They’re joined by an ensemble of Duluth favorites, including Alyson Enderle as Fran, Zachary Stofer as Marcus, Olivia Nelson as Alex and Julie Ahasay as Sylvia.
