Himmeli: From Finland to Minnesota
Event Navigation
Himmeli — ceiling mobiles — were originally created in Finland, Norway, Sweden and Estonia. These mobiles were hung from the ceiling in homes as good-luck charms to ensure the fertility of fields and healthy, abundant crops. This exhibition and its related workshops shed light on an ancient craft tradition that is now experiencing a revival.
