This University of Minnesota Duluth Recreational Sports Outdoor Program session introduces ideas for belaying from the top of a climb. It will cover the basics when transitioning from belaying at the base to belaying at the top.
The class location is Shovel Point; transportation from UMD is provided. This is not a climbing trip, it is an anchors-building clinic. Gear is provided; additional personal gear is welcome.
Prerequisites: Anchor sessions 1 through 3 or equivalent experience. Participants should bring warm clothing, a lunch, snacks and water.
Register by noon on Sept. 24. Meet by the tennis courts outside the UMD Sports and Health Center. The cost is $15 for UMD student members and $45 for others.
