Soprano Gina Hanzlik is joined by harpist and composer Amy Nam in a special evening of classical song. In their second collaboration, Hanzlik and Nam will interpret the music of Debussy, Faure, Schumann, Strauss and Puccini, as well as contemporary composers Joseph Schwantner, Seth Gordon and Nam herself.

Brooklyn-based Hanzlik is known for her deep commitment to character and delivery. Equally interested in exploring traditional repertoire and new works, Hanzlik has performed with Opera McGill, Tapestry Opera, the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity, Michigan Opera Theater, McGill Symphony Orchestra, Société d’art vocal de Montréal, and regularly premiers work for various composers and chamber ensembles in the United States and Canada. She is a teaching artist with the Metropolitan Opera Guild and presents workshops on opera and voice to students around the country. Hanzlik holds a master’s of education degree from the University of Michigan, as well as music degrees from both McGill University and the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities.

Twin Cities-based harpist and composer Nam is the recipient of numerous performance and composition awards, including the BMI Student Composer Awards, Lyra Society’s Costello Competition for Composition, and commission funding through Chamber Music America’s Classical Commissioning Program. She has appeared as a soloist with the McGill Contemporary Ensemble, the Vanderbilt University Orchestra, and the Sewanee Summer Festival Orchestra. After completing her undergraduate studies in harp performance at Vanderbilt University, Nam obtained a master’s degree in harp performance from McGill University and a master’s degree in composition from the Eastman School of Music.

All concert-goers must provide proof of vaccination or a recent negative COVID-19 test at the door prior to each show. Phone photos of vaccination cards will be accepted. Further precautions may be taken pending state and county health guidelines.

Tickets are available at Globe News in Superior, Zenith Bookstore in West Duluth and online at eventbrite.com. The cost is $20 in advance and $25 at the door.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m.; performance at 7:30.
