Gijikonayezigan: Anishinaabeg Cultural Food Practices with Hominy Presentation
This event will include a cultural presentation and discussion on topics related to traditional methods of growing, cultivating and processing hominy corn, as well as the nutritional value of cooking with hominy corn with Indigenous Foods Grower/Supplier Kevin Finney. After Finney’s presentation, the audience will be able to sample hominy soup along with bread made with wild-rice flour by Francois Medion. Local Indigenous food suppliers will vendor at this event and have products for sale, including Finney.
