The most loved train engine in the world is returning to the North Shore Scenic Railroad, but this year is moving farther up the tracks to Two Harbors. The 2023 Day Out with Thomas events will take place at the Two Harbors Depot over the first two weekends in August. Regular excursions on the North Shore Scenic Railroad will run uninterrupted out of the St. Louis County Depot and train museum in Duluth.
Train rides with Thomas the Tank Engine run Aug. 4-6 and 11-13. Sessions run every 45 minutes from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and include interactive stories and photo opportunities.
Participants ride with their favorite tank engine, Thomas, meet the controller of the railway, Sir Topham Hatt, take an extra ride with Percy, and can bounce in the inflatables, journey the obstacle course, enjoy live magic and music, try lawn games, visit the railroad museum, explore the play pod, get a temporary tattoo and more.

The Day Out with Thomas is the biggest fundraiser for the Lake Superior Railroad Museum, with all proceeds going to help fulfill the mission to preserve, present and interpret the history of railroading, especially as it relates to the area.
